Daan van Dalfsen

I have worked in the fruit and vegetable sector for almost fifteen years. First as a Quality Assurance (QA) manager and for the last ten years as an account manager. My interest in fruits and vegetables and trade began with a summer job at Van Dijk Delft in Bleiswijk. I knew what I wanted to do from an early age. After high school, I studied Business Studies & Agribusiness, with International Agricultural Trade as my focus at Van Hall Larenstein, University of Applied Sciences (also known as the tropical agriculture school or the sugar school) in Deventer. It was a great time in my life that I remember fondly, and I was also able to build a network that I benefit from to this day.

Limes, lemons, papayas, ginger and turmeric are the five most important products at FMI. I’m not attached to a specific country/sales region or customer group. The products are sold to customers throughout Europe, from service providers (partially due to my QA background), wholesalers, exporters, food service companies and industry. In addition to these five products, I also offer other products, usually upon request. If you need something specific, let me know which product and what your budget is and I’ll get to work.

Every day is different. I love the dynamism and the freedom to make my own schedule. I work long hours, so there’s not much time for hobbies on weekdays. That’s why I enjoy getting out of the house on weekends and having a drink, going to a restaurant, attending a festival or visiting family and friends.
