Marlies Bouman

I have been in this industry of fruit and vegetables for more than 25 years! I used to work as a holiday worker at the auction in Barendrecht (I won’t reveal where ☺). Not much later, I got married to Peter Bouman and also, therefore, to the AGF family business to some extent. I’ve thus always been involved – albeit in the background – with the ins and outs of the trade. Since 2018, I have been actively working there, with FMI’s team as a communications and back office colleague. I think that as a team, we can be justifiably proud of the quality of our products and what we achieve every day in this fast-paced and demanding industry. Moreover, fruit is a beautiful product – a generous gift from the Creator!

Outside of work, I get a great deal of pleasure from our children/children-in-law (not to mention, two cats) who are all studying, and I’m involved in all kinds of activities in and around our church congregation and our neighbourhood. In addition, alternating between work in the Netherlands and Spain is wonderfully dynamic. The office with our Spanish colleagues is based in Alicante, where we regularly stay; either in a flat in the city or ‘al campo’ with our motor home.
